Wild scenes have emerged after a brawl broke out at a popular Sydney nightclub over the weekend, with patrons pushed into a pool and covered in blood.

The video, which was quickly shared to social media, captured the incident as it unfolded from inside the Ivy Precinct Pool Club on Sunday night at about 6pm.

Security can be seen struggling to pull apart the multiple people involved in the messy altercation as it spilt over from the bar to the edge of the pool.

A number of men are seen throwing punches at each other as other patrons watch on in shock and confusion.

The clip shows one man being pushed into the pool before he was helped out of the water and taken away by security guards. The same man is seen making a gun symbol with his hands moments later as security attempt to pull him away from the crowd.

A close up of the video shows blood pouring down his face from an apparent eye injury.

Bystanders are seen climbing up on furniture to escape the fight as it engulfs the pool party area, although one man can still be seen jumping and dancing amid the chaos.

The original Instagram video ends with two men dancing by the pool after the brawl with the caption “post fight bliss”.

NSW Police confirmed an investigation is underway to identify the people involved in the altercation.

“Officers attached to Sydney City Police Area Command were called to licensed premises on George Street shortly before 6pm, responding to reports of a brawl,” a NSW Police statement read.

“Police have been told a number of men were involved in the fight, with a 23-year-old “Merrylands man taken to St Vincent’s Hospital where he is being treated for concussion, a cut to his left eye and other injuries.

“He is described as being in a stable condition.

“Inquiries are now underway to identify others involved in the incident,” the statement read.

The Pool Club is located on the top floor of the Ivy Precinct, one of Sydney’s biggest and busiest venues owned by publican and restaurateur Justin Hemmes as part of his Merivale empire.

The Merivale website describes the venue, which hosts a Sunday evening ‘pool party’ event, as “a rooftop oasis inspired by the Italian coastline”.

“Pool Club is all the things you want it to be. A place to meet, eat, drink and put up your feet.

“Escape the outside world and relax with a few cocktails, explore the refined wine list or drop by for lunch at this iconic rooftop pool,” the website read.

Merivale was contacted by news.com.au for comment but did not reply before deadline.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Sydney City Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
