Neighbour targeted after complaining about locals parking across the road from his house

A new resident has come under fire for complaining so much that locals believe he forced the council into needlessly spending rate payer money.

A fiery feud has broken out after a fed up local called out a new neighbour for being “w**ky”.

The new resident of a tight-knit NSW Central Coast community has managed to ruffle feathers with numerous unneighbourly offences, including wasting “rate payers’ money”.

They were lambasted by an angry local on Sunday, who described a host of annoying quirks the new addition had brought to the area in just a few short weeks since arriving.

“As the Central Coast struggles to get pot holes filled that are large enough to swim in or plant a tree in, here is a classic waste of rate payers’ money,” the furious local wrote on Facebook.

They claimed the man complained to the local council multiple times, almost immediately after moving in, about people “having the audacity” to park across the road from his house.

She said the man claimed the cars made it difficult for him to get out of his driveway, which was several metres away on the other side of the dual lane road.

“If he can’t get his car out of that driveway, he shouldn’t be driving,” she wrote.

The man also apparently had caused his young neighbour “so much grief money wise”, and seemed to have “the council on speed dial as well as the police”, she said.

In his short stay in the area, he had written “pages” to the local council, which the local said had resulted in the instalment of large limestone blocks last week.

The blocks prevent cars using the grass across from the man’s home for parking.

The fuming local called on the man to “go back to your w**ky northern beaches mates”.

Hundreds of others chimed in on the discussion, agreeing there was a major pothole problem in the area that the council needed to address.

“Meanwhile, I have two popped tyres from potholes in my street! Cannot believe they have not been filled, being an immediate safety hazard,” one of more than 300 comments read.

“Surely someone higher up can make the council fill in the potholes. It’s disgraceful and an embarrassment to the local council,” another said.

“While they do look good. The only reason he didn’t want cars to park there was because he was selfish and wanted nothing to interrupt his view,” a third wrote.

New resident made it harder for himself

Many others argued the limestone blocks would do little to dissuade people from parking on the side of the street.

“People will still park in front of his house there so I don’t know what the method to his so brilliant solution is,” one wrote.

Other members of the community argued it could be a sheer coincidence that the blocks were installed after the man moved in and started complaining.

“They’re definitely to stop people parking on grass causing damage and more work down the track, and council has probably had it planned for years,” one wrote.

Several locals agreed money spent on the blocks could have been better utilised elsewhere.

“Could have used those sandstone blocks as seats in parks. Waste of money. Not cheap either,” one said.

“What a waste of money. So much more to fix,” another wrote.

Central Coast Council confirmed with news.com.au the blocks were installed “due to complaints about anti-social behaviour and damage to the grass surface”.

“The sandstone blocks were installed to replace the original fence, which was in poor condition and also damaged due to floods,” a spokesperson said.

“The fence could not be replaced in its previous form, due to underground infrastructure, so sandstone blocks were used. A fence barrier was deemed necessary to reinstall due to complaints about anti-social behaviour and damage to the grass surface.”
