Travel warning ahead of Sydney Royal Easter Show 2025

Sydneysiders have been warned to be careful while heading out to the event on public transport.

Sydney Royal Easter Show exhibitors ‘competitive but best of mates’

The Sydney Royal Easter Show has offically kicked off with more than 35,000 people attending on its first day.

The annual event runs until April 22 with the promise of excellent food, entertainment, rides, games and showbags.

Sydneysiders have been warned to be careful while heading out to the event on public transport after Olympic Park Station recorded 15 falls between between train doors and the platform in the past year - 13 of which occurred during the Easter Show.

Sydney Trains has installed rubber gap fillers on all platforms at the station to prevent future incidents.

Sydney Trains boss Matt Longland said there had not been a single fall through the gap recorded on any platform where this solution had been rolled out.

Acting Transport Minister John Graham said the initiative was to ensure trips to the Show were as stree-free as possible.

“ Childhood memories of the Royal Easter Show should be all about show bags, rides and the best animals in show – not a frightening fall at the train station on the way,” he said.

“We saw the number of Easter Show-related falls at Olympic Park last year, and we have fast-tracked the installation of gap fillers so a trip to the Show is as stress-free as possible.”

RUbber gap fillers have been installed at at Circular Quay, Town Hall, Martin Place, Wynyard, Bondi Junction, Redfern, Chatswood, Wolli Creek and Central.

Everything you need to know about the Sydney Royal Easter Show

The show opens at 8.30am and runs until 9pm each day.

A Family Pass costs $178 for two adults and two children.

A single adult ticket costs $60, tickets for children and PWD (Person With Disability) ticket cost $42, and a Concession ticket costs $48.50.

Public transport to the show is free, the cost of which is included with your ticket purchase.

The busiest days at the show run over the long weekend from Easter Friday to Easter Monday.
