Ten cops struggle to arrest man outside a tobacconist in Kings Cross, Sydney

Footage of a dramatic arrest has gone viral after it took at least 10 police officers to take a rampaging man into custody.

Dramatic footage has captured the moment at least ten police officers struggled to arrest one man outside a Kings Cross tobacconist early Saturday morning,

Sydney music producer Brazigga shared the encounter on Darlinghurst Road on TikTok where it quickly went viral, racking up 800,000 views.

The footage begins with police flooding into the TSG store.

It then shows at least 10 NSW Police officers taking a large man into custody.

The footage showed the large man, who towered over the officers, attempting to kick himself away from the van as police tried to put him in.

Police then had trouble closing the door once he was in, with a handful applying their weight to the door to get it shut.

As the police van left the scene, the back door visibly moved as it was struck repeatedly from the inside.

Police said they were called to the scene about 2.45am Saturday morning responding to reports a man had been assaulted.

A police spokeswoman said the 28-year-old man allegedly resisted police, pushing one probationary constable to the ground.

“Once inside the marked police vehicle, it’s alleged the man kicked the back door, causing internal damage to the vehicle,” she said.

“He was taken to Kings Cross Police Station and charged with six offences including resist arrest, assault police, destroy/damage property, and affray.”

“None of the police required hospital treatment, with the majority receiving cuts and bruises during the arrest.

Commenters flooded onto the video online, shocked by the arrest.

“I lost count of how many officers! Was that the Hulk inside?” one wrote.

“The Cross has never changed,” another wrote.

The alleged offender was remanded until he appeared at Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court at a later date.
