The Tricks and Hacks to Winning the Lottery

The Lott spokeswoman Bronwyn Spencer said: “This is something we have never experienced in our lottery history – the biggest in 25 years in Powerball.”

She said there were “hot spots” where the biggest takings or highest number of division-one winning tickets were sold, with Queensland’s main hot spots being Warner and Bray Park.

The latest jackpot will be life-changing for its winner, or winners.

With $150 million, you could afford a $50 million Seven Lakes ranch in Colorado like golf legend Greg Norman, or something like The Shark’s luxury main home on Jupiter Island in Florida (worth $55 million).

Or punters who want some solitude, could buy themselves Makri Island in Greece, which is listed for $21.2 million, along with a private jet for $54,900,000.

You could even add one of the fastest rides on the planet – a Bugatti Chiron, which is priced from $2,998,000.

There’s no point being rich and lonely, so for companionship you could look no further than the most expensive of man’s best friends.

Why not secure yourself several of the world’s most coveted and expensive dogs, which are samoyeds. Pups fetch up to $10,000.

NewsXpress Robina Town Centre is a hot spot on the Gold Coast that sold a $40 million division-one-winning ticket in June.

“People are already going nuts about Thursday’s Powerball,” owner Karen Randall said.

“It is going to go wild.

“We are over the moon that it has jackpotted, and we’re just in for the ride.”

There are also hot and cold numbers, which are the numbers most frequently or less frequently drawn.

For the main barrel, the hottest numbers are 17, 11 and two and the coldest numbers are 12 and 26.

For the Powerball barrel, the hot numbers are three, 13 and 19, while the cold numbers are one and 18.

“Players interested in trying their hand at choosing their numbers may mark hot numbers in the hope they live up to their reputation of being drawn more often,” Ms Spencer said.

“Or would they choose to use cold numbers in the belief their turn to be drawn is just around the corner?’’

Despite the odds of winning sitting at one in 134 million, it’s never too early to start planning how to spend your winnings.

The Boutique Boat Company’s Damien Johnson said a new 55-foot yacht would set you back around $3 million, or you could splash out $8 million for a bigger vessel.

“That kind of a boat represents the height of luxury and you could afford it if you won the $150 million.”
