A FEMALE teacher was injured trying to break up a wild brawl at a Sydney school this morning.
The fight between two 17-year-olds at Georges River College got out of control when several students tried to break it up, a police spokeswoman said.
Reports there had been a stabbing were false. “A teacher has received a scratch to her arm when she intervened,” the spokeswoman said.
Ninemsn reported students were locked in classrooms and were lying on the floor, while teachers guarded entrances to the school.
The two 17-year-olds are now being interviewed by police.
A spokesman for the Education Department said they had nothing to add to the police comments.
