Police hunt gunman after 23-year-old shot dead in Horsley Park

POLICE are hunting for a gunman who shot dead a 23-year-old in Sydney late last night.

A GUNMAN remains on the loose after a fatal shooting in Sydney’s west last night.

The 23-year-old male victim was shot dead at a home in Horsley Park just before midnight.

Large sections of Horsley Drive in both directions running from the M7 to Ferrers Road were cordoned off while police searched into the early hours of this morning, The Daily Telegraph said.

Investigative teams covered the road and could be seen from the police cordon. They were joined by Fairfield police and dog units who went door-to-door.

Police this morning said they were still trying to determine the circumstances around the shooting and had so far made no arrests.

They are due to speak to media about the shooting shortly.

The Horsley Drive remains closed in both directions and the M7 exit ramp is also blocked.
