Indonesian police took three men into custody on Tuesday following a shocking attack that left one Australian dead and another wounded in Bali – and have not ruled out further arrests.

If charged with the murder of 32-year-old Zivan Radmanovic – and found guilty – Bali police have confirmed the suspects could face the death penalty under Indonesian law.

Another man, Sanar Ghanim, 34, was shot in the leg during the violence at a luxury villa in Badung, Bali.

One of the men arrested has been confirmed as Darcy Francesco Jenson, 37, a plumber from Sydney, who Indonesian officials say was trying to head to Cambodia.

A second alleged suspect has been named as Coskun Melvut, 23, while a third man arrested has been identified as Tupou Pasa Midolmore, 37.

The men were arrested at different locations.

None of the men have been charged with any crime.

Jenson was arrested at Soekamo Hatta Airport in Jakarta on Tuesday as he allegedly attempted to fly to Singapore while Mevlut, was arrested in Singapore, with the co-operation of Singapore Police.

He was allegedly attempting to head to another jurisdiction from there.

The details of Midolmore’s arrest are unclear.

Local law enforcement are yet to clarify whether they believe the shootings were the result of spontaneous conflict or an organised hit.

Bali Police Chief Inspector General Daniel Adityajaya told media a multi-agency investigation had led to the arrests of the three Australians, with the initials D, (alleged organiser), T (alleged first gunman) and C (alleged second gunman).

“Last night we have apprehended three suspects (who reside) from overseas,” Mr Adityajaua said.

“One (was) arrested in (Jakarta’s) Soekarno Hatta Airport when he tried to leave Indonesia.

“Two others have been flying … leaving Indonesia, and can be taken back to Indonesia because of Interpol co-operation with Indonesia.

“We have found the vehicles that have been used by the perpetrator(s) …”

“So, today, we can confirm (to) you that three suspects have been arrested and we have seized some evidence (that was) allegedly used for the crime.”

Mr Adityajaya said investigators would conduct an “interrogation” of those arrested.

He also described what was the believed escape plan of the suspects.

“First, they go on motorbike, then change it with (a) car that was found in Tabanan area, and then change their car with XL7 to Surabaya,” he said.

“They later try to go overseas through (Jakarta’s) Soekarno Hatta Airport.

Mr Adityajaya also confirmed the death penalty was applicable in this case.

“They may be charged with article 340 of Criminal Code on premeditated murder that carries a maximum death penalty.”

Investigators are still looking for the weapons used.
