MOLLY Meldrum is recovering after an accident in Thailand.
The music icon slipped while getting of a taxi at a Bangkok hotel last night.
“I’m a walking disaster,” he said today.
“I’m with the doctors now, they’re trying to put everything back together.”
The severity of any injuries is unknown until further assessment.
Meldrum was in good spirits talking about the incident.
“I’m not sure what it was, but I slipped on something on the ground and fell on the footpath, but I’m OK.”
Meldrum’s doctors will be hoping he has not re-injured his back, which was severely damaged when he fell off his roof in December 2011.
Meldrum, who turns 73 next week, flew to his beloved Thailand to deliberately avoid the hype around the Channel 7 miniseries Molly.
“Even I’m sick of seeing Molly,” Meldrum said earlier this year.
The TV legend planned to be overseas when the miniseries airs in early February, however he may now need to return home sooner rather than later.
He is now under doctor’s orders to rest and recover.
Excitement for the miniseries has seen the Molly: Do Yourself a Favour CD soundtrack go gold; the album is No. 10 on the ARIA chart this week.
