A man has been rushed to hospital after becoming impaled while allegedly attempting to scale a fence outside Adelaide’s Parliament House.
Police allege the man was attempting to jump the fence at King William Rd shortly after midnight on Thursday when he impaled himself through the wrist on a spike.
The 42-year-old was spotted by security and was freed after emergency services were able to safely remove a section of the fence.
The man was later taken to hospital where he is expected to undergo surgery for non-life threatening injuries.
In a statement, South Australia police said they would speak to the man when he was “medically able”.
