POPULAR broadcaster Luke Bradnam has had quite a fortnight – he’s leaving his Rush Hour radio show but has his stolen Ford Ranger back.

He’s also retrieved treasured ironman medals in its glovebox.

In a statement Wednesday, the station revealed Mr Bradnam would “sadly” not return for the Triple M’s Rush Hour next year after four years.

“Luke’s dedication to all that is local has filled the airwaves with laughs, honesty and passion for the Gold Coast community.”

Mr Bradnam said his time at the show was “amazing”.

“Thank you to everybody at MMM,” he said. “Thank you to everybody who has listened over the last 17 years, you mean more to me than you’ll ever know.”

SCA Gold Coast general manager Rod Hockey, said: “Luke has been an amazing talent to have in our business, his energy and passionate approach to his radio craft has made fans of our clients, listeners and staff.”

92.5 Triple M Content Director Corey Kay: “Each day he jumps behind the microphone with the same high energy and enthusiasm to entertain and inform. He’s a courageous performer who is only ever himself on air – a quality worth admiring as he’s the exception, rather than the rule. I’m thankful to have worked with someone so passionate. I speak on behalf of all the team thanking him for his commitment and contribution.”

FULL DIGITAL ACCESS: JUST $1 A WEEK FOR FIRST 12 WEEKS

Mr Bradnam made headlines when his car was stolen in Surfers Paradise after a live cross for Channel 9 last week. He watched it being driven away.

It has since been recovered from a Varsity Lakes driveway with two ironman medals he earned in Cairns and Melbourne.

“I’m stoked. I would rather the medals than the car – I can’t replace those,” he said.
