A MAN has gone on a rampage with a baseball bat inside a Sydney Myer store.
The incident was captured on video by one of several witnesses at the retail store in Liverpool around 2.20pm (AEST) today.
Shoppers reportedly looked on in horror as the man started “smashing cosmetics and shelves”.
Police confirmed 52-year-old man from Miller in south-west Sydney was arrested and no one was harmed in the incident.
“A 52-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly damaging property at a department store in Macquarie St, Liverpool,” a spokeswoman said.
Myer confirmed the store was closed for an hour.
“It all happened inside the cosmetics section of the Myer store.
“That area on one level of Myer was shut for an hour while the clean-up took place,” a spokesman said.
“Westfield worked with Myer on the clean-up before the store returned to regular trade.”
Stunned onlookers heard the man hurling abuse at staff.
“There was a guy with a massive baseball bat screaming horrendous things,” a shopper told Channel 7.
“I didn’t know what was going on but he seemed really out of it.”
