NSW has recorded 1,218 locally transmitted cases of covid  and six deaths during the latest reporting period, making it the country's highest ever daily case tally.

Premier Gladys Berejiklian said there were almost one million vaccinations issued this week, once more hinting that extra freedoms would be coming for vaccinated residents.

"There will be opportunities for those who are fully vaccinated to live more freely at the 70 per cent double dose. There are some things we cannot extend to people who are not vaccinated," she said.

Victoria confirmed 92 new Covid-19 cases today, the state's biggest daily spike since September 3 last year. The ACT recorded 13 new locally acquired cases and Queensland recorded one.
