Perpetual reality TV star Locky Gilbert and comedian/actor Pauly Fenech almost came to blows as tempers flared on SAS Australia.

It was an epic showdown between the two recruits with Fenech threatening to smash Gilbert in the face, tensions continuing to simmer as the episode unfolded on Wednesday night.

“I’m am egotistical arsehole,” Gilbert says to camera as the third episode of the Seven reality show aired. “I have a massive ego and that’s what drives me.

“I cannot take orders everybody will protest (sic) to that.

“It’s Lock’s way or the highway.”

Fenech and Gilbert were named under the command of boxer Ebanie Bridges and Team Bravo tasked to “extract a vehicle” pushing and pulling the huge four-wheel drive through a series of obstacles. Competing against model Simone Holtznagel’s Team Alpha, Bravo got off to rocky start unable to get the vehicle off its starting position, until they realised it was still in gear.

Frustrated Gilbert, shoved it out of gear muttering under his breath “Pauly was supposed to check that”.

“I’ve got a little bit of temper even though I do stupid things – I hate stupidity,” Gilbert says. “when something can be done very easy and it’s done wrong. Ohhhh kill ‘em I will …”

As the team sat to debrief following their comprehensive beating, Fenech took offence to Gilbert’s suggestions he forgot to take the vehicle out of gear. Suggesting it was Gilbert who did it.

Gilbert calling him an unprintable word.

“I’ll smash you in the face,” Fenech says.

Gilbert: Do it man, do it.”

Fenech “TV F---ing Acto …”

Gilbert continuing to talk about the incident back to base camp, and to fellow recruits.

Once back at the quarters Fenech took the reality TV star aside in a bid to diffuse the situation.

“When I f– k up I’m usually apologetic. I don’t want people talking down to me. There’s a whole other side to my life that you don’t know about. I’m not just an actor. People talking down to me sends me in a different direction. So I apologise and I hope we’ve got no problems from my point of view.”

Gilbert acknowledging he lets his aggression gets hold of him, “But what set me off was you saying I left the handbrake on the gears on”

“Let’s not get into who said what, that’s not productive. We just need to wipe the slate clean,” Fenech interjected.

The pair shook hands. With Fenech believing the matter was sorted, all the while Gilbert unwilling to let it go recruiting his fellow celebs to his way of thinking.

Meanwhile, DS Dean Stott and Ollie Ollerton call Fenech in for an interrogation after noting the tensions between the boys.

Fenech didn’t hold back when asked for what he really thought of the former Survivor star.

“He’s a reality guy,” Fenech says. “All the girls fawn over him. When I see a poser like that it shits me. You want to try and push me around you can go and get f----d.

“He charms them but he’s got a thin character. He’s the guy who always gets the free pass in life, who’s always had it easy because he’s got the look.

“He plays the leader but he’s faking it to me.

“When I see a poser like that it shits me. I fell like it’s always ‘hey, look at me – I can be the leader because of the way I look.

“TV people look like Locklan they don’t look like me.”

When questioned about his childhood, Fenech became emotional as he explained he was the little guy who copped it his whole life, growing up in a violent area in a violent time.

“I could be the victim or I could fight back,” he said.

“I learnt to box to protect myself, I had to have an edge as a kid to survive.

“I’m always prepared to fight back now.

“There’s always some person who wants to bully me or bring me down, I didn’t like being disrespected by Locklan.”
