THE Gold Coast’s casino complex plans to giddy up for the big Magic Millions race day next month for the first time in a bid to rival Melbourne Cup buzz.

Three venues at The Star Gold Coast will host big screen racing, live entertainment and exclusive events on Saturday 16 January, with the Broadbeach resort introducing a series of three inaugural race day luncheons.

The events include rooftop Nineteen at The Star’s race day lunch with a five-course set menu, and four-hour premium beverage package.

Cucina Vivo’s five-course lunch includes a three-hour beverage package and a picnic style two course meal on The Lawn at Garden Kitchen & Bar.

ARIA award-winning DJ Kid Kenobi, nationally renowned house DJ John Course and electronic dance sensation Will Sparks will headline post-race festivities on the Lawn from 4pm until late.

Magic Millions managing director Barry Bowditch said the Carnival was a mainstay of the Gold Coast entertainment calendar and he was delighted to partner with The Star to bring in the new events.

“The ongoing impact of COVID-19 may see a few changes to the format of the 2021 Magic Millions Carnival but the undeniable excitement and enjoyment of this week-long racing event remain,” Mr Bowditch said.

“The Star Gold Coast has injected fun and festivity into the Carnival since 2019 and it will once again be the place to enjoy all the action in 2021.”
