Girl, 12, dies after being trampled by horse
A 12-YEAR-OLD girl has died after being dragged then trampled by a horse in the Hawkesbury region of NSW.

A 12-YEAR-OLD girl has died after being trampled by a horse in NSW.
The incident happened about 5.30pm yesterday in the Hawkesbury region. The girl had been leading a horse on a property on Pitt Town Rd, Pitt Town, when it is believed the horse became spooked.
The 12-year-old was first dragged and then trampled.
Shocked neighbours found the girl unconscious. When emergency services arrived they discovered serious head, chest and abdominal injuries.
The ambulance rescue helicopter took her to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, but she died about 6.45pm.
Police from Hawkesbury Local Area Command are investigating the incident and preparing a report for the Coroner.
