Four rescued after yacht capsizes off Main Beach on the Gold Coast

Four people have been rescued off the hull of a yacht that capsized in rough seas just a short distance off one of Queensland’s busiest beaches.

Four people have been rescued after a yacht capsized in open water off the Gold Coast spit.

Three men and a woman were rescued off the hull of the yacht with no reported injuries around 3pm.

A surf lifesaving helicopter rescued one person while water police picked up the remainder.

They were taken to the Gold Coast Water Police base on the Southport Spit where they are being assessed by paramedics.

None are believed to have been seriously hurt.
