Environmental protester hijacks Albanese press conference

Peter Dutton has challenged Anthony Albanese to roll out former Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews in his campaign after the Prime Minister had an event hijacked by an hysterical protester.

Mr Albanese has refused to rule out an Australian recession but says his government has done the “hard work” to deal with it, while Mr Dutton says Australia’s interest rates and cost of living hikes have been more marked than other nations because of Labor’s failures.

Meanwhile, both leaders are set to do battle in the first election debate tonight. The Sky News/Daily Telegraph People’s Forum will be held in Western Sydney, and will feature questions from 100 undecided voters.
