Opposition Leader Peter Dutton will dump a popular tax break for buyers of electric vehicles – just two days after he pledged to keep the scheme despite a blowout in costs.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese visited a site in Western Australia earmarked by the Coalition for a nuclear power plant, after we revealed Mr Dutton is yet to go within 50km of one of his proposed reactor sites during the election campaign.
Also today, the Opposition Leader refused to outline what new military capabilities he would provide with the extra $21bn he has pledged for defence, as his shadow health spokeswoman went on the attack and branded Mr Albanese a “political vulture” preying on sick Australians.
