Brisbane dog lovers are on alert after a doggy daycare claims it has found deliberately placed poison near its property.

Retreat Doggy Day Care took to social media saying they spotted chunks of pink rat bait in front of the front gate of their Bardon business on Monday morning.

Baiting scourge: “Kids could be next”
“We know it was placed between 6am and 7am this morning and that many nearby businesses have CCTV so hopefully a culprit is found,” they said in a Facebook post.
“Our yards are always checked daily before any pups are allowed in it, and this is something we have always done. Though it’s sad we have to!”
Pet owners took to social media condemning the dog baiting.
“Omg that is bloody terrible. So lucky you guys found it,” one woman said.
“So now these people are not only targeting the pups but targeting businesses too! Hope they are caught…” another said.
It comes after two dogs were killed from suspected dog baiting in Brisbane parks including Newstead and New Farm.
Police are investigating.
