Australia's Shame: Horrifying trend in violence against women

A man who allegedly stabbed his partner inside her parents’ southeast Melbourne home made an ominous post to social media just days before the mum of two was killed.

The homicide squad is investigating the death of Monique Lezsak whose body was found by police in an Endeavour Hills home at about 7.30am on Tuesday.

Ms Lezsak’s partner Sven Lindemann remains under police guard at the Alfred Hospital recovering from serious upper body injuries sustained in the incident.

No charges have been laid and police are not looking for anyone else over the incident.

One of Ms Lezsak’s twin children, who were reportedly both home at the time, was injured trying to save her mum from the fatal stabbing attack.

She was taken to Monash Hospital with minor injuries.

As police investigations continue, the Herald Sun uncovered eerie social media posts by Mr Lindemann made in the days before his partner’s death.

In one picture, shared to Instagram, the 51-year-old bodybuilder showed a sign that read “don’t forget that you are going to die”.

Mr Lindemann also posted a number of videos that featured misogynistic comments about women.

In one post he can be seen mixing a protein drink while mouthing the words “I like skinny girls that are in good f**king shape, not fat b***hes”,

And just over a month before the fatal attack he shared a picture of him smiling next to Ms Lezsak and her two children.

The professional bodybuilder, who reportedly lived in the South Australian suburb of Brompton before moving to Melbourne, regularly posted about his progress in the gym to social media. He also promoted hemp and supplement products.

He competed in and won a number of professional bodybuilding competitions across South Australia and Victoria.

Ms Lezsak was also a professional bodybuilder and had dreams of becoming a police officer. She also worked as a disability carer and held a diploma in beauty therapy.

She is being remembered as a “loving mother” to her two children, who she had with her former partner Jye Carter.

Mr Carter told the Herald Sun he was in disbelief after the incident and described Ms Lezsak was “the most beautiful person”, saying she had achieved a lot in her life.

“She was just a really good mum. I can’t believe this has happened, I really can’t,” he said.

Their 10-year-old daughter, who was home with her twin brother at the time of the fatal attack, has been hailed a hero for attempting to save her mum from being stabbed.

Ms Lezsak’s best friend Jacqueline Schwarcz told media on Wednesday they family and friends were going to “surround her and support her through this”.

“She is definitely a hero in all of our eyes,” Ms Schwarcz said.

Flowers have been laid at Ms Lezsak’s parents’ home today, where she was allegedly stabbed and killed.
