THE man accused of stalking, flashing and assaulting female joggers along a popular waterside running route in Sydney has had bail opposed by police who feared his behaviour had been escalating.

Andrew James Grant, a father-to-be accused of flashing women jogging on Sydney’s Bay Run, has been labelled “unpredictable and brazen” by police, who successfully opposed bail.

He has been charged with numerous offences including five counts of stalking, two counts of behaving in an offensive manner, two counts of assault with an act of indecency and a count of indecent exposure.

The 28-year-old did not appear at Hornsby Local Court on Wednesday, when his matter was briefly mentioned. No plea was entered.

Six female victims were approached between late-January and mid-February, with police saying some incidents happened as early as 7.30am while others occurred at 10pm.

Mr Grant is accused of stalking one victim at 3.30pm before targeting her again three hours later. Police say Mr Grant, who lives with his pregnant partner, assaulted one victim before exposing himself to her.

In a separate attack, he allegedly tried to kiss one of the women.

In opposing bail, police said his behaviour was escalating and “becoming increasingly unpredictable and brazen”.

“Police fear he may be unable to control his future urges and may sexually assault any future victims,” documents tendered to the court state.

“To date there are six separate victims each of the complainants have described feeling threatened, intimidated and scared for their safety as a results of the accused’s actions and words.

Mr Grant’s lawyer, Joseph Nashed, indicated his client would enter a plea and possibly apply for bail when he appears at Central Local Court on Friday.

Until then he’ll remain behind bars.

Detectives last week released an image of the suspected flasher and called for the public to help identify him.

“The most important thing with this offender is that he has very prominent teeth,” Inspector Ned Gligorevic said at the time.

“Apparently the incisors are sharp — so you’re looking at a rather unique set of front teeth.”

The fanged accused flasher was arrested and charged on Tuesday.
