Academy Award-winning composer Hans Zimmer to play in Brisbane
You will have heard his music without even realising it, but the Academy Award-winning genius behind some of the biggest movies of all time is set to be the star attraction himself as he heads to Brisbane to perform.

IT’S not often you get to hear movie music composers play live. German film composer Hans Zimmer is one of the best and he’s coming to Brisbane in October with his show Hans Zimmer Live. You recognise the name from the movie credits and Zimmer and John Williams are two whose names adorn a lot of film credit lists. But you can’t quite recall which movies he has written the music for, right?
Well the list is impressive with early triumphs such as The Lion King in 1994 and he has also written the music for Top Gun, The Dark Knight trilogy, Gladiator, Blade Runner 2049, Dunkirk, Interstellar and Pirates of The Caribbean to mention just a few.
He also did Black Hawk Down and many more.
Zimmer has been on the road before and he sold out arenas during his previous tour, Hans Zimmer revealed in 2017, which he also brought to Australia. Now the 61 year old Grammy, Golden Globe and Academy Award-winning composer is coming back with Hans Zimmer Live and he says he’s thrilled to be coming Down Under.
“Performing a concert series like Hans Zimmer Revealed was something I always wanted to do in Australia and I’m thrilled I got to do that in 2017,” Zimmer says. “I’m now beyond excited that I’m able to do it all again in 2019 with a new show and the help of some very talented friends. We’re looking forward to seeing you again soon in Australia.”
Hans Zimmer Live which will play at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on October 3 (the first stop on his Australian tour) and it will be a multi-layered experience for concertgoers and a must see concert event which will take audiences through the back catalogue of one of cinema’s most inventive minds and most celebrated composers.
Stunning visuals and an extensive lightshow are part of the spectacle.
