Matildas star Tameka Yallop has revealed she’s expecting her second child, joining a growing list of Aussie footballers expanding their families.
The Brisbane Roar midfielder, 33, announced the news with wife Kirsty Yallop in a heartfelt Instagram post on Monday night, confirming their four-year-old daughter Harley is “bursting with excitement” to become a big sister.
“Baby Yallop number two coming soon,” they wrote, sharing a series of sweet family snaps featuring ultrasound images and a framed sign that read: “Baby Yallop due October”.
The announcement drew a flood of support from fans and Matildas teammates, with Ellie Carpenter calling it the “best news ever”, and Teagan Micah gushing that Harley “will be an amazing older sister”.
The Matildas’ official account also chimed in, posting: “Adding another member to the Tillies fam. Congrats, Meeks!”
Kirsty, 38, a former New Zealand international, retired from professional football in 2018 and gave birth to Harley in 2020.
Tameka and Kirsty met on the football field while playing against each other at the 2015 World Cup and married in Mangawhai, New Zealand, in 2019.
The Yallops’ exciting news comes as part of a growing baby boom in the Matildas camp, with star striker Sam Kerr also expecting her first child this year with partner Kristie Mewis.
