Man investigated for flashing genitals during school drop-off
A witness claims she saw a man “fully naked” outside a property adjacent to a prep to year 12 Gold Coast school at morning drop-off time.
Police are investigating reports a man exposed himself next to a Gold Coast primary and highschool at drop-off time, with a witness claiming he was standing “completely naked” outside a property adjacent to the college.
Officers were called to Reserve Rd, next to Upper Coomera State College, around 9.15am on Monday following reports a naked man was hanging out clothes on private property in full view of students walking to the prep-to-year-12 school between 8.30am and 8.45am.
A witness, who was driving along Reserve Rd on her way to get coffee, said she saw the man outside a property “completely naked exposing himself and his genitals to children walking to school”.
“He was literally standing out the front of the (property) completely naked when I drove past,” she said.
“He was outside the front entrance … I saw his full hairy junk and all.”
The Upper Coomera local said she was shocked by what she witnessed during peak school traffic.
“I was mind-blown,” she said.
“I’m more concerned for the parents at that school.
“I would be mortified if my kids saw that.
“Considering that school is prep to year 12 also there is a lot of kids there who would be walking past.”
A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman confirmed officers were investigating.
“Police are investigating a report of indecent exposure at Upper Coomera yesterday morning,” she said.
“Officers were called to Reserve Rd around 9.15am, following reports a naked man was hanging out clothes on private property, in view of the public.
“Investigations continue.”
A Department of Education spokesperson said the school had contacted police after becoming aware of social media post about the incident.
“The safety and wellbeing of students is the highest priority for the Department of Education,” the spokesperson said.
“The school is aware of a Facebook post on a private page claiming inappropriate acts by a member of the public.
“The school has contacted the Queensland Police Service to inform them of the post.
“No students or staff have reported concerns to the school directly.”
