A man stabbed in broad daylight in Alice Springs remains in a critical condition in a South Australian hospital, with the man accused of the crime copping additional charges ahead of his first court date.

On Monday, 22-year-old Kaine Fisher was dealt two additional charges in relation to a daylight stabbing in Alice Springs.

After he was arrested on Friday, Mr Fisher was charged with intending to cause serious harm, with NT police confirming on Monday he has been further charged with causing any harm and going armed in public.

Mr Fisher was arrested hours after a 27-year-old man was stabbed in the Alice Springs CBD.

The stabbing occurred Thursday afternoon on Gregory Tce, with footage posted online showing two men in a verbal altercation before the stabbing.

In the footage, the man stabbed, 27, is shown on the ground as shocked bystanders render assistance.

The other man can be seen wielding a knife in each hand in the footage.

The 27-year-old man was later flown to Adelaide for treatment.

On Monday, an SA Health spokeswoman said he was in a critical condition.

“This is all we can provide at this time,” she said.

Mr Fisher remained in the cells during his brief court mention on Monday, where police prosecutor Jordan Miles sought an adjournment.

Defence lawyer Mark Clare did not oppose the adjournment and did not enter a plea on behalf of his client.

Mr Fisher also has a separate file before the court for two counts of aggravated assault, as well as a domestic violence order, both of which were also mentioned in court on Monday.

Judge Tanya Fong Lim adjourned Mr Fisher’s matters to July 24 and kept him on remand.
