ITA Buttrose’s troubled niece Lizzie was last night arrested for assaulting a police constable on the front lawn of her ritzy eastern suburbs home.
It is understood more than half a dozen officers attended the scene.
Police said an alarm was activated at the 47-year-old’s Vaucluse home at 8.30pm and confirmed one person was taken into custody.
It will be alleged that Ms Buttrose was verbally abusive to officers before assaulting a constable.
She was arrested and taken to Waverley police station. She was charged with assaulting police and last night granted conditional bail to appear at Waverley court on November 15.
The Daily Telegraph has previously reported about police attending the home after a bedroom panic button was sounded.
This is the fourth time in two years police have been called to the address.
Ms Buttrose’s partner Zoran Stopar was at the scene but was not detained.
A banged-up black BMW was last night parked at the front of the house.
Ms Buttrose left the police station just before 2am, with Stopar attempting to shield the pair behind bits of clothing.
They jumped into a black ute before taking off.
Ms Buttrose is the niece of media doyenne Ita and sister of convicted drug dealer Richard Buttrose.
In August, police were called to her home for an alleged domestic incident.
Officers laid an interim domestic apprehended violence order on Mr Stopar following the August incident, but Ms Buttrose supported him when he attended Waverley Local Court one week later to challenge the order.
Mr Stopar has indicated he will challenge the order at a future hearing.
Ms Buttrose, who shares the eastern suburbs property with Mr Stopar, stepped up in defence of her beau in court and submitted an affidavit in support of his application to the court to vary the conditions of the interim AVO.
Ms Buttrose split earlier this year with derivatives trader Scott Fay, the partner she argued with prompting her to sound a panic button to summon police twice.
