If you went down to the Esplanade today you better have gone in disguise because every bear that ever there was had gathered for City of Darwin’s Teddy Bear’s Picnic.
Teddies in all shapes and sizes were spotted at the annual event on Sunday from Pooh Bear to Paddington and even a few members of Paw Patrol.
Nevaeh Martin, 10, explored the array of market stalls and food trucks with her injured Pikachu who was recovering from a nasty fall.
“He broke his legs after falling off the roof,” she said.
“Because he has lightning he thought he could fly.
“Being outside is definitely helping him feel a bit better though.”
All teddies and their families were treated to a musical performance from Alice Springs singer Sally Balfour in addition to balloon art, magic and drag.
The picnic was one of many Darwin Festival events kicking off this week.
