THEIR daughters made them listen to Katy Perry’s Roar, but now it’s Welcome to the Jungle for the Fillmores at Saturday’s Guns N’ Roses concert.

Flagstaff Hill couple Jared and Alexandra Fillmore, along with daughters, Sierra, 10, and Ava Jae, 7, will be in the 40,000 crowd at Adelaide Oval.

The Not in this Lifetime reunion tour brings together Guns N’ Roses’ founder Axl Rose and former members, guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan, who are performing together in Adelaide for the first time and arrived in town by private jet.

It’s been 24 years since the trio have played together in Australia’s eastern states as part of their Use Your Illusion tour in 1993.

Slash and McKagan have been regular visitors for solo projects and with their band Velvet Revolver over the decades, while Rose continued with the band.

Mr Fillmore, who has seen Slash in concert, said he was looking forward to seeing the original Guns N’ Roses line-up, which reformed at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California last year.

“It’s real music, not produced, and it’s timeless,” Mr Fillmore said. “I like that they went against the grain when they started ... and they’re still around. Slash is brilliant live, one of the best guitarists in the world.”

Mr Fillmore said he and his wife decided to attend the concert as a family after they saw Katy Perry live in Melbourne at their daughters’ request a couple of years ago.

“It will be like yin to the yang ... their first concert was Katy Perry and their second will be Guns N’ Roses,” he said. “My girls are going to love it.”

The Not in this Lifetime set list covers everything from Appetite for Destruction up until Chinese Democracy.

Mr Brownstone, Estranged, You Could Be Mine and Welcome to the Jungle will ring out at Adelaide Oval and, who knows, AC/DC rocker Angus Young may even make an onstage appearance after joining the band on the last handful of Australian shows.
