Roaming dogs have killed a cat before turning on a woman and a man in a Gold Coast street.

Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics were called to Canterbury Chase at Ashmore after the man and woman were attacked shortly before 9am on Tuesday.

The woman aged in her 60s was treated for an arm injury, while the man aged in his 20s was assessed and found to be suffering from nausea, perhaps as a result of shock.

Paramedics took the pair to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition, a spokeswoman said.

Queensland Police were advised of the incident, which was reported as involving two “bulldogs” which were on the loose.

However, police officers did not attend the scene, a spokeswoman said.

Gold Coast City Council is investigating the attack, a spokeswoman confirmed.

”Two Staffordshire bull terriers have been seized by council officers while investigations are underway,” she said.
