Ms Washington said Paul Kelly had been involved in the film and was “very supportive of the project’.

“He actually has a small cameo in the film,” she said.

“He’s been so supportive and so generous around the film, he’s involved at the festival, in the ceremony, and then we’ll be doing this live event the following day.

“It will be a night of musical performances and celebration of the music in the film.

“So there’ll be performances from Beddy Rays, Brendan MacLean, who plays Possum in the film, myself, Electric Fields, (and) Ben Salter.”

The musical performance will be held on February 8 on the outdoor stage at HOTA as part of the AACTA Festival, which follows the awards ceremony at the venue’s theatre the previous night.

How to Make Gravy has been recognised for its technical and acting excellence across 15 categories including the awards for Best Film, Best Lead Actor in Film (Daniel Henshall), Best Supporting Actress in Film (Kate Mulvany), and two nominations for Best Supporting Actor in Film (Damon Herriman and Hugo Weaving).

The AACTA also revealed the nominees for the 14th International AACTA Awards on Wednesday morning, adding to the list of Australian national nominees that were announced last week.
