No arrests, charges from Gold Coast influencers Troy Candy Australia Day party
A social media influencer’s Australia Day party that drew thousands of punters has resulted in no arrests – despite a slew of unrelated Oz Day incidents and attacks.

Partygoers who celebrated with one of the Gold Coast’s best known party boys on Australia Day were seemingly well behaved with no arrests made.
Candyman 2.0 Troy Williams advertised his yacht party off The Spit for Australia Day and asked people to join him on the water to “send it”.
Videos shared to his Instagram story showed thousands of people partying on boats, tinnies and jetskis out on the water on Wednesday.
Despite the fun times had off The Spit and Wave Break, a man was injured in a boat crash, and a woman was attacked on Surfers during the day.
He also posted a picture to his Instagram Troy Candy of him with four mates surrounding an Esky with drinks on ice.
The words Gee Up were plastered across the colourful Esky.
One of the men in the picture, Nathan Bartlett, said the drinks were the brainchild of Williams and five of his mates.
“It’s a fruit beer for the party scene called GeeUp,” he said.
The drinks would be released later this year, according to Bartlett, who was one of the many on Williams’ party yacht on Wednesday.
“No injuries, heaps of fun and good vibes. That’s what it’s all about,” he said.
A Queensland Police spokesperson said no serious charges related to partying were laid from the event at The Spit.
A man aged in his 50s was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital “in a serious condition with chest injuries” after he was crushed between two boats at Wave Break Island in an unrelated incident, according to a statement.
The incident occurred at 6.45pm on Wednesday and there is no report that the incident was related to the party.

A sizeable crowd has been building at The Spit and Wave Break Island this Australia Day as social media influencers host a party which has drawn the attention of Gold Coast police.
Jackson O’Doherty and “Candyman 2.0” Troy Williams have collaborated to host the gathering, involving a yacht, floaties and various watercraft.
Mr Williams has posted a video of the revelry on his Instagram page, showing people congregating on land and in the water.
However, Queensland Police said early in the afternoon that officers were generally pleased with the behaviour of those celebrating in the area.
Earlier, police erected a blockade on a road on the The Spit in a bid to prevent any vehicle and pedestrian incidents.
Photos showed Moondarewa Spit Road barricaded and police officers on hand early in the morning.
Officers have also set up a checkpoint on SeaWorld Drive.
Gold Coast police Acting Chief Superintendent Rhys Wildman said vehicles were not able to pass the Moondarewa Spit Rd blockade as part of a risk mitigation strategy.

“We reached out to the (Gold Coast) Waterways Authority on Tuesday afternoon as part of our planning,” he said.
“What we’ve done is just close off vehicle access out to the point itself.
“We’re trying to reduce risk of having young kids, families, large groups of people in the area and mixing it with vehicle traffic.
“It’s just a risk reduction strategy for us, that’s all.”
Act Supt Wildman said officers would be keeping a close eye on festivities.
“We’ll see how it goes. It’s interesting to see what the weather looks like for us, and Mr Candyman too, how his event goes,” he said.
Gold Coast Waterways Authority stated only Moondarewa Spit Rd had been closed.
“The Spit and Doug Jennings Park remains open,” a statement read.
“We are working closely with the Queensland Police Service to ensure the safety of the community on this busy day.”
Cops warn party boys over Oz Day celebrations
January 25: Police have spoken to two Gold Coast party boys who have advertised an Australia Day celebration on the city’s water.
Jackson O’Doherty, the man behind Jackson’s Playground, and Candyman 2.0 Troy Williams have joined forces to throw the party, advertised for The Spit.
The pair recently featured on the Bulletin’s list of wildest party boys on the Gold Coast.
A post on Williams Facebook page said: “come and send it with us!”.
The post goes on to say Williams, aka Troy Candy, will be choosing a member from his private website to come and “send it” on a yacht on Wednesday.
Those who aren’t chosen are told to get on the water with a “boat, ski, canoe or tinny”.
Williams – who has 204k Instagram followers – is no stranger to Australia Day celebrations.
Footage on his Instagram stories in 2019 showed him partying with scantily clad women at an exclusive Yarra Valley wine estate and taking a boozy Hummer ride.
O’Doherty, 27, is a YouTube prankster turned adult content creator and his new octagon-shaped home on the Gold Coast which he named ‘Playboy Mansion 2.0’ has become known for its parties.

The $2.9m luxurious mansion hosted a $100,000 Halloween party last year and brought it in the New Year with 300 guests at an X-rated white-themed shindig.
O’Doherty is one of Australia’s leading influencers, boasting 2.7 million subscribers on YouTube and 2.2 million Instagram followers.
Acting Chief Superintendent Rhys Wildman said police are aware of the Australia Day party advertised at The Spit from 12-7pm.
“We are aware of a number of activities and there is one in particular that has been highlighted on social media,” he said.
“In fact our water police are engaging with the organisers of that particular event and will be ensuring that the event is conducted safely.”
Supt Wildman said Australia Day was no exception for people who drink in public spaces.
“We are using that compassion, communication and compliant approach. It is an offence to consume alcohol in a public place,” he said.
“We really hope everyone gets out there and enjoys the spaces we have on the Gold Coast. Our officers will ensure that we are doing our best to provide a safe environment.”
