Police have advised a 90-year-old man who went missing from Labrador has been found after an urgent appeal for public assistance.

Police have advised a 90-year-old man who went missing from Labrador has been found “safe and well” after a desperate appeal for public assistance.

Earlier on Thursday, Queensland Police issued a statement “urgently seeking public assistance” to find Fred Porter, a 90-year-old man with a medical condition who had been reported missing.

However, police provided an update about an hour later and said Mr Porter “has since been located safe and well”.

Earlier: Police are “urgently seeking public assistance” to find an elderly man with a medical condition who has gone missing from Labrador on the Gold Coast.

Fred Porter, 90, was last seen at 11am on Wednesday, travelling in a white 2005 Toyota Corolla displaying Queensland registration 107AEY.

“His current whereabouts are unknown however it’s believed he may still be in the vicinity of the Labrador and Runaway Bay areas,” a Queensland Police statement read.

Mr Porter is described as caucasian with grey hair. It’s believed he is wearing grey trackpants and a black or grey “wind jacket”.

“Family and police are concerned for his welfare as he suffers from a medical condition and may be disorientated,” police stated.
