Murder-accused ex-councillor Ryan Bayldon-Lumsden’s defence team has requested another delay while they look to obtain new medical records.
It is alleged the former Division 7 councillor killed his stepfather Robert Lumsden during an altercation at their Arundel home in August last year.
Mr Bayldon-Lumsden’s legal team have entered a not guilty plea to the murder charge.
Mr Bayldon-Lumsden’s solicitor Ron Behlau, of Behlau Murakami Grant, appeared at Southport Magistrates Court requesting a six week adjournment after delays with a witness statement.
Mr Behlau said he also intended to subpoena Robert Lumsden’s medical records and would need time to consider the material before finalising their position.
His matter is due to reappear on July 26 for committal mention.
