A young Gold Coast woman has recorded a horrifying scene in which she claims to have been followed and sexually assaulted by a man in Southport.

The incident, which allegedly occurred on Anne Street on Tuesday night, was posted to Facebook by the alleged victim’s sister to warn other women to be “vigilant”.

“This bit of dirt followed my sister on Anne St, Southport last night and ended up sexually assaulting her,” the post said.

“She managed to break free but they’ve yet to even identify the worm. She had to repeatedly elbow him in the face for him to let her go.

“She wants this shared because he is a massive danger where everybody needs to be vigilant.”

In the video, which appears to be discreetly recorded, the man can be seen following the woman down a dark street.

She repeatedly asks the man what he’s doing and to leave her alone to which he responds: “I’m not doing anything, I just want to look at your socks.”

She tells him she’s “not comfortable” and to “please let me alone,” screams to which the video cuts out.

The sister said the victim was “OK” but shaken and upset.

A Queensland Police Service spokesperson said they had not received any formal complaints in relation to this matter.
