It has sparked fresh warnings to teens of life-impacting consequences from filming for OnlyFans content.

Surfers Paradise sex worker Kay Manuel, on OnlyFans, has plastered herself on a giant central Surfers billboard and aims to host official ‘meet and greets’ at local venues.

Ms Manuel, who claims she’s forking out $25,000 for security during Schoolies for her and teens filming with her, argues she’s not taking advantage of impressionable school-leavers.

The unapologetic 22-year-old claims she will make six figures from Schoolies sex content adding: “Australia has made an uproar because yes, it’s a crazy thing – it is controversial.

“I’ve been told I’m a predator, a pedophile. (But) look, to upload to these websites you need to have ID and these platforms have the relevant systems to check these IDs aren’t fake or invalid. I don’t meet up with anyone unless government ID proving they are 18 has been sent. I don’t meet up with anyone who may have turned 18 but was 17 at the time of messaging me – that’s grooming.”

It follows outrage last year when British Schoolies escort Bonnie Blue - who just had her Australian visa cancelled - did the same thing. At the time, Ms Blue argued if anyone had a problem with filming X-rated scenes with 18-year-old “barely legal” Schoolies they had a problem with the law.

Griffith University psychology professor Dr Veya Seekis said it was “exploitative” and “sick”, targeting teens for profit.

“Their (the Schoolies) images are more likely to generate higher revenue because we know predatory and grooming behaviour is so huge online – that’s why they (creators) are targeting young people,” Dr Seekis said.

“They’re not interested in who you are as a person, they’re just looking at this age group and thinking, okay, they’re emerging adults, so they haven’t got a lot of management skills in terms of making responsible choices, and that puts them in an age where predators and groomers are more likely inclined to want to see these kinds of images – particularly because a lot of these Schoolies are still so innocent.”

Bond University Head of School (Psychology) Dr Ahmed Moustafa said last year while OnlyFans creators “know what they’re doing legally”, most Schoolies’ prefrontal cortex – the part of the brain controlling risk taking behaviour – had not yet fully developed.

Ms Manuel said: “Take it up with the government. This is all legal.

“If people in power have made the decision these 18 year olds can make these decisions, I’m not going to question that – I’m just going to follow the guidelines and the laws given to me.”

She said content can be removed from OnlyFans and consent withdrawn anytime but one ex-OnlyFans creator said removing content online “wasn’t that simple”.

It can be screen recorded, downloaded and uploaded to other platforms with free-for-all access, they said.

“There are provisions in place but that doesn’t mean anything. I had someone upload my content to a free site. Now it’s online forever. I was an adult, past my teenage years, but I still got ‘groomed into it’.”

The ex-creator said the weight of those past decisions impact relationships to this day.

“I had family threaten to disown me – people do judge you and it does have real life consequences.

“These kids need to understand this is something that will never go away once you’ve done it. You don’t know who’s got it and it could pop up again in 10 years.”

As part of Ms Manuel’s Schoolie campaign controversial Glitter Strip venue Casablanca will host a “meet and greet” with the sex worker and Schoolies. It is not operated by Casablanca but subcontracted and hosted by FKNSND Prodictions.

Director Shannon Bourke said no filming or content would be produced at it and the venue was still be open to the public.

Mayor Tom Tate warned school-leavers last week against getting involved after Ms Blue signalled her intention to return in 2024, saying futures would be at stake.

“They (the Schoolies) don’t understand that, they don’t know in 20 years when they are going to stand up to be a justice of the Supreme Court have got this digital video when they were 18 hanging around.”
