The owners behind a Gold Coast Thai restaurant have shared their secret to becoming the best in the city.

Capri on Via Roma Valyn Thai Restaurant and Bar recently took out the title for the best Thai restaurant on the Gold Coast.

Valyn Thai Restaurant and Bar owners Pattaree Jiranuchaiwattana (Pat) Vitchaya Hasitawet (Alex) said they felt “out of this world” after finishing on top in the Bulletin readers’ poll.

“Our hearts are warmed knowing that people love what we do,” she said.

“I feel out of this world.”

Ms Jiranuchaiwattana said she “incredibly happy” with the success of Valyn Thai Restaurant and Bar after opening eight months ago.

“The secret is passion and determination. We love what we do,” she said.

Ms Jiranuchaiwattana said their spanner crab dumplings in yellow curry, fresh oysters, grilled lamb rack and their wagyu salad was some of their most popular dishes at the Capri on Via Roma venue.

“We have created our own dishes that no one else has,” she said.

The pair recently announced they would be taking over the vacant space left by Charlie’s Cafe and Bar in Surfers Paradise.

“The community serves as my greatest inspiration in creating each and every restaurant,” she said.

“Every angle of my eight restaurants are different menus based on the area.”
