A Gold Coast car yard has had its front gates rammed by thieves as they took-off in a stolen vehicle.

Massage Ram Raid

Thieves have broken into a Helensvale car dealership, taking a vehicle and ramming the front gates to the business as they made their escape.

Police were called to the Isuzu showroom on Kingston Dr about 11.40pm on Thursday January 2 following the reported break and enter.

A Queensland Police Service (QPS) spokesman said the offenders gained entry to the workshop area where they lifted a garage roller door and drove out in a black Kia vehicle, ploughing through the gates.

The following evening police responded to a single vehicle crash on Rangeview Rd at Upper Coomera about 11.30pm.

Police allege that when officers arrived they found the stolen Kia crashed on a footpath with a man asleep behind the wheel. He was taken into custody.

A 32-year-old man from Arundel has since been charged with one count each of enter premises and commit indictable offence and unlawful use of motor vehicles.

He faced Southport Magistrates Court on Monday where the matter was adjourned and he was remanded in custody. He’ll face court again on February 4.

Investigations into the break and enter are ongoing.
