Heavy rain has drenched the Gold Coast overnight as residents brace for another day of wet weather.
Meteorologist Miriam Bradbury said many Gold Coast suburbs recorded high rainfall totals on Wednesday as a thunderstorm battered the city.
She said, as of 6am on Thursday, Mudgeeraba had recorded 163mm, Burleigh Waters was at 153mm and Tomewin was 143mm.
The Bureau of Meteorology issued a warning for large hailstones, damaging winds and heavy rainfall for the Gold Coast at 4.52pm on Wednesday.
Ms Bradbury said the Gold Coast was expected to receive between 10mm-30mm of rain on Thursday.
“We may see more flash flooding,” she said.
“Our advice to residents is to keep an eye on the radar and warnings. Weather situations like this can ramp up.”
Gold Coast Council have advised residents to not drive through Hardys Rd in Mudgeeraba.
Other road closures include: Tallebudgera Connection Rd, Tallebudgera and Currumbin Creek Rd, Currumbin.
The heavy rainfall on Wednesday caused significant flash flooding across the Gold Coast, impacting major roads including Bermuda St and the Gold Coast Hwy.

Ms Bradbury said the wet weather conditions were expected to ease by Thursday afternoon, into Friday but there could be showers and the chance of a thunderstorm on Saturday.
She said the Gold Coast was expected to have more thunderstorms at the start of next week.
