A man has tragically died in hospital after a motorbike crashed into a truck on the Gold Coast.

A man has tragically died in hospital after a motorbike crashed into a truck on the Gold Coast.
Emergency services were called after reports of a two-vehicle crash on Franklin Dr in Mudgeeraba around 5pm on Thursday.
A Gold Coast police statement said it was understood a Yamaha YZ4007 trail bike was riding east along Franklin Dr when it crashed head on with a tow truck.
Paramedics rushed to the scene and assessed the 21-year-old motorbike rider who had critical injuries.
The Mudgeeraba man was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital and where he tragically passed away.
The 41-year-old Robina tow truck driver was not injured in the crash.
The Forensic Crash Unit are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
