Gold Coast police have cut short the joy rides of an alleged serial Gold Coast hoon who has had his car seized indefinitely and faces hundreds of dollars in fines.

The Pimpama man was allegedly behind the wheel of a grey Holden Commodore Sedan when it was filmed by bystanders on two separate occasion hooning at a roundabout at Cunningham Drive and William Boulevard last week.

Queensland Police Service (QPS) spokesman said in a statement: “(The car) is seen in the video footage, allegedly losing traction around the roundabout, creating excessive noise.” .

On Tuesday officers investigating the two alleged hooning incidents attended a nearby home as they searched for a driver and car involved.

“They identified a vehicle parked in the driveway, allegedly matching the vehicle shown in the video,” the QPS spokesman said.

“Police spoke with the occupant of the residence, who claimed to be the owner of the vehicle, allegedly driving on the dates.”

The 20-year-old was issued with two infringement notices totalling $892 for driving in a way that makes unnecessary noise or smoke and for not having proper control of a vehicle.

Police allege it was also the man’s fourth hooning offence, and his car was seized and towed from the address to be forfeited to the state.
