A man has been injured in an attempted robbery outside an upmarket Gold Coast shopping and dining precinct.
The 19-year-old was standing outside a venue on Seaworld Drive, Main Beach at about 10pm on Monday when he was allegedly attacked in an attempt to steal his wallet.
“He was approached by a group of four people,” a Queensland Police Service (QPS) spokesman said.
“Two males from the group have attempted to steal the victim’s wallet. An altercation occurred and the victim was assaulted.
“The suspects then left the scene in a dark-coloured sedan.”
The alleged attackers left empty-handed, according to the QPS spokesman.
It’s understood the attempted robbery occurred near Mariners Cove and Marina Mirage.
A Highland Park man suffered facial injuries in the attack.
Police are appealing for anyone with information, or motorists with dashcam vision or nearby residents with CCTV, to come forward.
Investigations are continuing.
