An independent Pentecostal church that holds monthly meetings with evangelistic teachings is hoping to turn a vacant Geelong building into a place of worship.

The Victory Faith Centre operated for several years out of an industrial building in South Geelong, but is now seeking to relocate to North Geelong.

An application to convert the vacant Armstrong St building into a place of worship is currently out for public feedback.

The site is located in an industrial estate.

Victory Faith Centre wants to use the building on Sunday mornings and Tuesday nights, with parking for up to 15 people.

The warehouse is relatively small at approximately 160sq metres and requires no industrial machinery.

The application states that the proposed location would not impede on the operation of other businesses since it would be used outside of their normal business hours and only for a limited period each week.

According to its website, topics discussed by the Victory Faith Centre include “why was hell created?” and “how do we walk in the spirit?”.

In November last year, construction began on the Exclusive Brethren Church in Batesford.

Plans for the building, which will hold up to 1000 people, were lodged almost four years and were ultimately approved in March 2020.
