One of the Transport Accident Commission’s most senior executives has abruptly departed the Geelong-based organisation.

Andrew Holt had been TAC’s executive general manager of performance, risk and strategy since October 2023, during which time he had acted as chief executive in the absence of Tracey Slatter.

But last week Mr Holt resigned, effective immediately, due to “personal reasons”, according to a TAC spokesman.

Asked about the reasons behind his hasty departure, Mr Holt also cited “personal reasons”, adding that “any suggestions to the contrary are completely false”.

The profile of Mr Holt, who previously spent eight months at WorkSafe on secondment, has been deleted from TAC’s executive page.

“We thank Andrew for his years of service and wish him all the best for his future endeavours,” the spokesman said.

His former role is now being filled on an interim basis, with the TAC to advertise for a permanent replacement in the near future.

The role brings with it an annual salary in the vicinity of $300,000.

The TAC’s executive team has had a major overhaul since Tracey Slatter became the organisation’s chief executive officer in 2023.

The former Barwon Water director replaced longstanding TAC chief Joe Calafiore.

In July, the Geelong Advertiser revealed plans for a $20m upgrade to the TACs Brougham St headquarters.

The property’s owner, listed $20 billion real estate funds manager Centuria Capital Group, plans to refurbish the 60 Brougham St building, delivering a suite of new facilities to encourage people into the office, improve its environmental credentials and hopefully win a new lease after 2029.

The additions include a gymnasium with an indoor sauna, a cold recovery room and multipurpose room for pilates or yoga; and end-of-trip facilities such as showers, 180 lockers and parking for 80 bicycles.
