UPDATED: V/Line and metro trains connecting the CBD with the north and west have been disrupted after a serious incident in Footscray.
Emergency services rushed to Albert St about 9am on Friday.
Trains are resuming on the Sunbury, Ballarat, Bendigo, Geelong and Albury lines after the serious incident but passengers still face significant delays to the affected train lines until the afternoon.
Coaches are also dispatched to replace trains across the V/Line network which depart from the Southern Cross Station coach terminal located on Spencer St, opposite Little

Commuters are urged to allow extra travel time.
The Department of Transport and Planning thanks passengers for their patience as emergency services conducted investigations.
It comes after other delays on the Craigieburn line on Friday morning.
Passengers were alerted the delays were due to a train fault and could be up to 20 minutes.
