A brutal fight between two schoolboys on the grounds of Lara Secondary College resulted in police being called to the scene.
A source said a fight broke out between two students in Year 11 at the school grounds around lunchtime on Tuesday.
The fight was described as “really ugly” and was eventually broken up by teachers.
It is understood the father of one of the boys showed up to the school and was irate with staff.
According to the source, the father left the scene and then returned half an hour later.
“He went to the school twice, on the second occasion within an hour, they called the cops,” the source said.
It is understood the father left shortly.
“Teachers broke up the fight, and then the student must have told his dad and the father came to the school irate and then he left and came back,” the source said.
“The dad was really upset, he was aggressive and wouldn't leave and then the cops came.
“A school should be a safe place for people who work there.”
Victoria Police said it was not involved in the incident.
“Police responded to reports of children fighting on Alkara Ave in Lara about 1.40pm on Tuesday,” a spokesperson said.
“Police arrived and the children had dispersed.
“No criminal offences were reported to police.”
A Department of Education spokeswoman said it was aware of an incident at Lara Secondary College involving two students.
“This incident does not reflect the values or behaviour of the vast majority of students at the school,” she said.
“Immediate and appropriate disciplinary action was taken against those involved, and those affected by the incident are being supported by the school.”
The department did not say if a father was involved or asked to leave the premises.
