The nominations are in and now is the chance for readers to have a say on where Geelong’s best burger can be found.

As part of our Best Of Geelong series, the Addy is searching for the local business serving up the burger that makes your mouth water the most.

People can vote for their preferred place by using the poll below.

Burger Inc owner Hilal Acar said it was exciting to be nominated as one of the places that cooked the best burgers in Geelong.

She said the Newtown business had operated for 10 years on Pakington St and what she loved most about the industry was the flexibility it provided.

Her favourite item on the menu is the Fried Chicken Club.

“What sets us apart is how fresh and gourmet everything is,” Ms Acar said.

“We use all premium fresh ingredients from our pesto through to haloumi trying to keep it as clean as possible.

“That’s why a lot of our customers will eat here multiple days a week.”

Boss Burger Co won the most recent best Geelong burger vote in 2021 and co-owner Tim Harrison said the business had grown a lot since.

“We just opened our 10th store, and our first Melbourne store in Ascot Vale last week,” he said.

“We plan to continue to expand into other states and are working on a franchise model, which will hopefully be ready soon.

“We targeted rural areas by opening in Bendigo, Warrnambool, Lara and more.

“It’s all going really well.”

Voting will close Monday at 9am, with the winner announced soon after.

The Addy will also announce up to five other top-rating local businesses from our poll of readers.

We have relaunched the Best of Geelong series to help our readers discover the incredible businesses and individuals in our community.

It works in three stages:

1. We put out an initial call for nominations over a two-day period. This happens on our various social media accounts, as well as on our website.

2. After nominations close, we open the voting stage on our website. The businesses or individuals that receive the highest number of nominations will progress to the voting stage.

3. A winner will be announced on our website usually a few days after the voting stage concludes.

*The Geelong Advertiser reserves the right to disqualify any entries to the Best Of competition.
