Three members of an outlaw motorcycle gang who were allegedly involved in a Geelong bar brawl that left a man’s face partially paralysed appeared in court on Tuesday.

Matthew Rizzo, 29, Toby Elvey, 42 and Marty Albert, 44, fronted the Geelong Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday for their alleged involvement in a brawl in Manhattan Bar on October 22 last year.

Mr Rizzo, of Winter Valley, is charged with intentionally causing serious injury in circumstances of gross violence, intentionally causing serious injury, assault without lawful excuse and affray.

Mr Albert, of Maribyrnong, is charged with common law assault, affray and possession of methamphetamine.

Mr Elvey, of Pascoe Vale, is charged with intentionally causing serious injury in circumstances of gross violence, assault, affray, two counts of committing an indictable offence on bail and handling stolen goods.

The lawyer representing the three men, Micky Milardovic, said he had only received a brief for Mr Albert, and was waiting for police to briefs for Mr Rizzo and Mr Elvey.

Mr Milardovic told the court identification was not an issue but requested the matter be adjourned to a later date.

Police allege Mr Rizzo, sergeant at arms of the Bandidos Ballarat Chapter, was alongside president of the Melbourne Chapter, Mr Elvey, and sergeant at arms of the Melbourne chapter, Mr Albert, when the alleged assault unfolded.

Police will allege the attack on two men, aged 38 and a 42 at the time, was unprovoked and the parties were not known to each other.

In a bail application for Mr Rizzo in November of last year, CCTV footage played in court showed one of the alleged victims being grabbed by the hood of his sweater before he was flung to the floor and smashed his head on a table.

Magistrate Ann McGarvie adjourned the matter to a special mention on March 26, and extended bail for the three men.
