A perfect spring day saw racegoers bring out all the fashion stops at the Geelong Cup.
The Addy was trackside to capture 100 of the best dressed punters.
More than 350 Addy readers voted for who was the most stylish at the biggest day on Geelong’s racing calendar.
Lauren Dempsey from Stawell came out on top in what was her first visit to the Geelong Cup.
“Fashions on the Field is something I have been watching for a long time and I would see the best dressed in the newspaper all the time as a kid,” she said.
“Now it has become a bit of a hobby of mine.”
Ms Dempsey recently travelled to Vietnam and took the opportunity to create a few custom pieces with local tailors, including the orange dress she wore to the Cup.
“I had the millinery to go with a different dress but paired with the white bag and shoes it all worked well together,” she said.
“I am not a person who will buy a whole brand new outfit for every occasion but it’s great to be able to mix and match, with vintage pieces from home or op shops.”
Ms Dempsey was runner up in the millinery category of Fashions on the Field.
Ms Dempsey plans to attend Derby Day and Melbourne Cup Day at Flemington for the first time and was looking forward to the fun and atmosphere of those events.
Wendy Norris was voted second with a blue frock adorned with white bows and Deb Jennings’ long orange dress with hot pink accessories placed her third.
