A Surf Coast clothing brand specialising in hooded towels has entered liquidation owing hundreds of thousands of dollars to external creditors.

CMJ All Sports Pty Ltd, which traded as Cover Me Jules, made custom-designed bath, beach, sports, and treatment towels.

Mathew Gollant from CJG Advisory, a Melbourne firm specialising in insolvency and forensic matters, was appointed as a liquidator on Tuesday.

According to documents from the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), Julie Dower and Stella Steel are listed as the company’s directors, with each director owning 50 per cent in shares within the company.

According to ASIC documents, the company had its registered office in Jan Juc.

The brand also operated a store in Hoppers Crossing, according to its website.

On occasions the business would also set up at various markets around the Surf Coast, Geelong and Melbourne.

Mr Gollant said the company went into liquidation because the directors could no longer financially support the business.

“All staff were terminated in 2023,” Mr Gollant said.

“Other than a small amount of superannuation owed to one employee, there are no entitlements outstanding.

“The company was unable to recover from the lockdowns imposed during the Covid pandemic.

“External creditors are owed about $250,000.”

ASIC documents show the company was first registered in June 2015.

A general meeting of the company’s members was held on Tuesday, where it was resolved to wind up the business.

The company’s website is currently offline, and its landline number is no longer in service.

The last post on their Facebook account was in December last year, while their most recent Instagram post was nearly two years ago.

The company specialised in making quick drying, light weight, sand free, and hooded towels.

The Geelong Advertiser attempted to contact Cover Me Jules for comment.
